Commerce official says analysis underway on 5G strategy comments, goal is to ‘ignite market’

Commerce Department officials are poring over industry comments on the Trump administration’s national strategy on fifth-generation networks and will “distill” the input for interagency partners as they move into the implementation phase on the 5G plan, a senior official said.

“The implementation plan for the 5G strategy is going to be so critical,” said Evelyn Remaley of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration, during a webinar Tuesday hosted by USTelecom.
