Coast Guard touts new cyber profile as it promotes international cyber strategy

The Coast Guard is “optimistic” that new guidance setting baseline cybersecurity controls will help the industry improve its cyber posture, as the service pushes its strategy to the international maritime community.

A Coast Guard official told Inside Cybersecurity that the service is working on a final draft of a National Institute of Standards and Technology cybersecurity framework “profile,” mapping the voluntary federal cyber standards to the maritime bulk liquid subsector. The profile will be released “very soon,” the official said....
