CISA begins work to update SBOM minimum elements report mandated by cyber executive order

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency is working on an update to a foundational Software Bill of Materials publication developed at the Commerce Department under the 2021 cyber executive order, according to agency official Allan Friedman.

Friedman led a multistakeholder effort at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration focused on software transparency, and carried on that work when he moved over to CISA in 2021. He is currently a senior advisor and strategist at the cyber agency.
