CISA and FBI issue joint advisory with details on QakBot ransomware threat following DOJ takedown

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the FBI are providing details on the QakBot malware botnet in a joint advisory detailing impacts to financial, emergency and commercial facilities services and how organizations can protect themselves, following an international takedown of the malware threat.

The CISA-FBI alert, released Wednesday, contains 16 recommendations “to reduce the likelihood of QakBot-related activity and promote identification of QakBot-facilitated ransomware and malware infections.”
