Chertoff calls for more data, metrics, and thoroughness to secure operational technology

Former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff sees a “robust” regulatory system at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, while he is calling for electricity-sector operators to adhere to routine cybersecurity practices, like implementing software patches, and highlighting a need to generate the appropriate metrics -- and related data -- for evaluating risks to the industry.
