'Bug bounty' programs gain traction in Congress, DHS in wake of 'WannaCry' attacks

Proposals for establishing a federal “bug bounty” program -- which would encourage hackers to detect cyber vulnerabilities within government systems -- are gaining momentum in the Senate and House in the wake of the “WannaCry” ransomware attacks and as a way to address long-standing concerns about the liabilities associated with vulnerability disclosures.
