British vehicle cyber guides follow U.S. NHTSA approach to connected cars

The government of the United Kingdom has issued guidance for automobile manufacturers to address cybersecurity risks in vehicles, detailing approaches for addressing supply chain risks, implementing security by design and maintaining protections throughout a car’s lifecycle.

The UK guidance cites similar guidelines issued by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and addresses both traditional vehicles and emerging autonomous-vehicle technologies.
