Botnet effort will draw from, but not replicate, NIST framework process

The relatively recent experience of developing the landmark framework of cybersecurity standards offers plenty of lessons as government and industry stakeholders get to work on a new botnet strategy, especially on collaboration and transparency.

But the botnet initiative is not meant to replicate the 2013-2014 crafting of the  framework, led by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and there will be differences in both process and substance, according to sources inside and out of government.
