Bolton's tenure punctuated by pivotal moments on cyber policy and organization

Former National Security Advisor John Bolton, who resigned Tuesday, was not seen as a cybersecurity leader but despite that, his fingerprints are on several of the Trump administration's most pivotal cyber moves.

“Bolton is a more traditional security official,” a source with national security experience said upon his appointment in April 2018. “He sees cyber as a piece of broader issues. He doesn't see cybersecurity as different or special.”
