Biden signs ‘Secure Equipment Act’ requiring FCC rulemaking to prohibit review of risky equipment

President Biden has signed into law a bipartisan bill requiring the Federal Communications Commission to tighten restrictions on suspect telecom products by issuing a rule within a year, making clear that the FCC will not review equipment listed under the 2019 Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act as untrustworthy.
