Biden nominates former NTIA official Gomez to pivotal open FCC commission seat

President Biden has nominated Anna Gomez, former NTIA deputy administrator and current State Department cyber bureau advisor, to fill the fifth seat on the Federal Communications Commission and give Democrats a majority on the FCC a year-and-a-half into the president’s term.

The White House also announced today that it is reupping the nominations of current FCC Commissioners Geoffrey Starks and Brendan Carr. Both commissioners were nominated under former President Trump, for Democrat and GOP seats respectively, and face term limits...
