Biden addresses U.S. port security through executive order, Coast Guard proposed rulemaking

The White House has announced an initiative to bolster the security of U.S. ports including a new executive order and a Coast Guard proposed rule to establish minimum cybersecurity requirements.

“Today, the Biden-Harris Administration will issue an Executive Order to bolster the security of the nation’s ports, alongside a series of additional actions that will strengthen maritime cybersecurity, fortify our supply chains and strengthen the United States industrial base,” according to a White House fact sheet.
