Appropriators approve CISA funding boost in DHS budget bill, setting up vote on House floor

The House Appropriations Committee approved the Department of Homeland Security fiscal 2022 budget in a 33-24 vote Tuesday, featuring a major increase in CISA’s allocation to fulfill mandates in a May cyber executive order and respond to major cyber attacks.

“Now more than ever, the risks we face from cyber attacks threaten both our economic and national security,” House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) said at the start of a markup session on the DHS budget proposal.
