Analysts: Cybersecurity a nascent, increasingly important piece of U.S. trade policy

Cybersecurity provisions in trade agreements are likely to evolve from “aspirational” to more elaborated and binding as the issue becomes a greater focus of trade policy, according to analysts who closely follow international trade and security issues.

“It's new to do anything on cyber in trade agreements,” Joshua Meltzer, senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, said in an interview with Inside U.S. Trade.
