Amid executive order flap, Kelly gets off on right foot with homeland security lawmakers

Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly's first appearance before the House Homeland Security Committee on Feb. 7 was focused on border security issues, but cyber was also on the panel leaders' minds and the retired Marine Corps general had to tamp down lawmakers' concerns about a still-pending cybersecurity executive order.

“I would hope this executive order coming down on cyber is done in coordination with this committee,” Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) told Kelly.
