Airline group advocates for TSA taking on sector-specific harmonization efforts in proposed cyber rule

The Transportation Security Administration should reduce the compliance burden for industry under a proposed rule to establish cyber requirements for surface-level transportation by incorporating sector-specific regulations that meet their needs, according to Airlines for America.

“All transportation modes have touch points with other regulatory agencies. We recommend TSA coordinate its proposed cybersecurity regulatory actions with other regulators and agencies that are also mandating cybersecurity requirements for transportation operators,” A4A says in a Feb. 5 filing to TSA.
