After Krebs firing, CISA’s interim leadership faces concerned stakeholders, ongoing cyber and political risks

A sense of anger and dismay is still rolling across the cyber ecosystem after the firing of CISA Director Christopher Krebs, as stakeholders sift through policy implications and a temporary team takes the reins at the cyber agency.

Krebs was dismissed from his position on Tuesday evening by President Trump, via Twitter, drawing bipartisan condemnation on Capitol Hill, among industry groups and from other cybersecurity stakeholders. Krebs’ deputy, Matthew Travis, also resigned.
