Acting Defense Secretary Miller signs far-reaching directive on ‘cyberspace accountability’

The Pentagon's acting chief has signed a new "cyberspace accountability" directive aimed at ensuring Defense Department organizations are following security protocols and processes to thwart cyber adversaries like China from exploiting network vulnerabilities.

In a Nov. 13 directive-type memorandum signed by acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller, senior Pentagon leaders are provided guidance for "enabling cyberspace accountability within DOD to address risks assumed by commanders and directors in the cyberspace area of operations."
