Transportation Dept. safety committee to meet in July, provide recommendations on autonomous vehicles

A Department of Transportation “Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee” will meet in July to discuss issues including automated driving systems and ways to reduce regulatory barriers, a DOT agency announced today.

In a Federal Register notice, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration said that the meeting, July 30-31 in Washington, DC, will focus on three issues: providing “recommendations to the Agency concerning automated driving systems” in motor vehicles; developing FMCSA's fiscal years 2018-2022 strategic plan; and reviewing the Federal...
