State CIOs make cybersecurity top priority for 2018

Cybersecurity and risk management are state chief information officers’ top priority heading into 2018, according to a new survey from the National Association of State CIOs.

Security and risk management -- including governance, budget and resource requirements, security frameworks, data protection, training and awareness, third party security practices, and “determining what constitutes ‘due care’ or ‘reasonable’” security -- are state CIOs utmost priority, ranking number one on the list of top 10 state CIO priorities for 2018.
