Senate Appropriations approves security reviews for sensitive tech based on country-of-origin

The Senate Appropriations Committee’s recently approved Commerce-Justice-Science spending bill includes country-of-origin language requiring security reviews for telecommunications equipment from entities based in specific nations, a change in approach for the Senate panel that tracks with how House appropriators have addressed the issue in recent years.
