Retail industry group puts privacy, data-breach issues atop '19 priority list

The Retail Industry Leaders Association on Monday released its policy priority list for 2019, promising to continue efforts to create federal consumer data-breach and privacy laws, while also pledging to conduct educational campaigns on the impact of stringent state-level privacy laws on consumers.

The “2019 Retail Public Policy Agenda” addresses a variety of issues and includes cyber-related privacy and data-breach policies in a section on “enhancing the customer experience.”
