Report: New technologies raise potential for Olympic Games cyber attack

The presence of new technologies in sporting events such as the Olympic Games could lead to an increased risk of cyber attacks, a University of California at Berkeley report released Tuesday said.

The report, published by UC Berkeley's Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity, claims that the “proliferation” of new technological devices and programs may lead to cyber attacks that “could threaten public safety, diminish the fan experience, and undermine the integrity of competition.”
