Repeal of FCC data rules heads to Trump following House vote

The House Tuesday approved on a 215-205 vote overturning the Federal Communications Commission’s recently adopted data privacy and security rules for broadband internet providers, following Senate approval of an identical resolution last week.

The measure for repealing the rules now heads to President Trump, who is likely to sign it with support from industry and the new chairman of the FCC, Ajit Pai, who issued a statement saying the House vote will reverse a partisan push for the requirements.
