NIST extends comment deadline on consumer privacy report

The National Institute of Standards and Technology announced Friday it is extending the deadline for public comment on a draft report on securing consumer data until July 17.

The draft report, “Executive Technical Workshop in Improving Cybersecurity and Consumer Privacy,” NIST IR 8050, was released in April.

NIST says, “The report summarizes cybersecurity topics that business-to-consumer companies may face and suggests projects and areas for future cybersecurity efforts led by NIST.”
