Nielsen nomination awaits Senate action next week, or later

Senate action on Kirstjen Nielsen's nomination for Homeland Security secretary will have to wait at least until Nov. 27, after the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs twice delayed a vote before clearing her nomination last week.

The White House was eager to have her sworn in before this week's Thanksgiving recess, but the process was hung up over conflict-of-concerns even while Senate Democrats were expressing general support for Nielsen's expertise on cybersecurity matters.
