Leading DOJ official says cyber indictments are intended for trial
Deputy Assistant Attorney General for National Asset Protection Adam Hickey said indictments sought by the Justice Department against international cyber criminals and hackers are always intended for prosecution in federal courts.
“We don't bring a case thinking we won't go to trial,” Hickey told a group of cyber policy specialists at the International Conference on Cyber Engagement at Georgetown University on Monday.
“Criminal charges are not the only response the government has” against cyber criminals, he said.
