Kirstjen Nielsen sworn in as sixth DHS secretary

Kirstjen Nielsen was sworn in as the sixth secretary of the Department of Homeland Security on Wednesday during a brief ceremony at the White House.

Nielsen, who was confirmed by the Senate on a 62-37 vote Tuesday, is the first former DHS employee to become the secretary, having formerly served as DHS chief of staff under former Secretary John Kelly.
