House panel seeks information on federal contracts with Equifax

The House Energy and Commerce Committee is requesting data from the General Services Administration on federal contracts with credit reporting agency Equifax in the aftermath of the agency’s recently announced data breach resulting in the compromise of millions of consumers’ data.

Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR), ranking member Frank Pallone (D-NJ), digital commerce and consumer protection subcommittee Chairman Bob Latta (R-OH) and ranking member Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) submitted a letter to GSA requesting information on how it vets data...
