House Democrats explore ways FTC could use more money for privacy initiatives

Key House Democrats want to know what the FTC could do with another 100 lawyers to help protect consumers' data privacy.

House Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone (D-NJ) and consumer protection and commerce subcommittee Chairwoman Jan Schakowasky (D-IL) are examining how the Federal Trade Commission would use additional funding to protect consumer privacy and data security, and how it might use as many as 100 new attorneys focused on privacy issues.
