FTC presses case for more authorities in comments on federal privacy policy

The Federal Trade Commission is asserting a natural role for itself in privacy and data protection in comments filed with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, which has proposed a risk-based model for addressing the issue, alongside the National Institute of Standards and Technology's development of a new privacy framework.
