FTC gets full roster as the agency’s cybersecurity role expands

The Senate last week confirmed five new appointees to the Federal Trade Commission as the agency increases its role in cybersecurity issues, including on data breaches and supply-chain risk mitigation.

The Senate on Thursday confirmed Joseph Simons to chair the commission, along with his fellow Republicans Noah Phillips and Christine Wilson, and Democrats Rohit Chopra and Rebecca Slaughter to fill the other four seats.
