European, South Korean officials pledge continued cybersecurity cooperation

European Union and South Korean officials met this week in Brussels to discuss continued cooperation on data privacy and security, while emphasizing how recent legislative changes underscore commonalities in addressing cybersecurity.

“They stressed the importance of the protection of personal data as a fundamental right and a central factor of consumer trust in the data economy, which also facilitates mutual data flows,” according to a European Commission press release about the meeting issued on Nov. 20.
