EU official says Ross confirmed commitment to Privacy Shield data pact

European Commissioner for the Digital Single Market Andrus Ansip said Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross expressed his commitment to the Privacy Shield framework during a March 9 meeting.

Ross has not publicly indicated his position on Privacy Shield, which sets security requirements for transatlantic data flows, since he was confirmed.
