DHS spared budget ax in latest Trump spending proposal

The Department of Homeland Security's cybersecurity operations would be largely spared from budget cuts being pushed by the Trump administration in its recent proposal to Congress for supplemental spending through the remainder of the current fiscal year, according to documents obtained by sister publication Inside Defense.

The Trump administration is proposing $18 billion in non-defense spending cuts for fiscal 2017 to help offset a proposed $30 billion increase for the Defense Department. The figures are organized by the programs...
