Companies that falsely claimed Privacy Shield participation settle with FTC

The Federal Trade Commission has reached a settlement with three companies that falsely claimed participation in the U.S.-European Union Privacy Shield -- which underpins transatlantic data flows for over 2,000 companies.

The FTC touted the cases as proof of its commitment to aggressively enforce the Privacy Shield framework.
