Chertoff Group risk management tool receives SAFETY Act designation

The Chertoff Group’s Security Risk Management Consulting Methodology -- a tool for monitoring and mitigating cybersecurity and other threats -- has received a SAFETY Act designation from the Department of Homeland Security offering legal liability protections.

The Chertoff Group -- created by former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff -- announced Tuesday the DHS Safety Act Designation, which provides developers of counterterrorism capabilities legal liability protection from claims relating to an act of terrorism occurring where anti-terrorism technologies have been deployed....
