IT sector to cyber commission: Promote existing cyber policies, expansion of NIST framework

Information technology sector groups and companies are urging the president's Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity to recommend the federal government focus on executing existing cybersecurity policy initiatives while implementing technical solutions that improve information sharing and baseline cybersecurity protections.

The Information Technology Sector Coordinating Council, in comments to the cyber commission, says the National Institute of Standards and Technology's cybersecurity framework “must be embraced and expanded upon by future U.S. Administrations.”
