White House says Russia may face economic sanctions in retaliation for hacks

The Obama administration is considering the use of financial sanctions against Russia for hacking that the U.S. government says is intended to influence the 2016 elections, according to White House press secretary Josh Earnest, who emphasized that nothing is off the table in terms of a cyber or physical “proportional” response.
