Upcoming events will spotlight emerging U.S. cyber deterrence policy

The impending state visit of China’s president and upcoming actions on cybersecurity regulations, information-sharing initiatives and other policy matters will spotlight and could incrementally advance nascent U.S. efforts to improve deterrence in cyberspace.

Following revelations of the massive hacking of the Office of Personnel Management, which the top U.S. intelligence official attributed to China, President Obama affirmed in June that he looks forward to welcoming China’s president, Xi Jinping, to the White House for a state visit in September....
