Trump picks Wilbur Ross to run Commerce Dept., oversee wide-ranging cyber efforts

President-elect Trump announced Nov. 30 that he will nominate Wilbur Ross to become Secretary of Commerce, a trade-oriented selection who will also oversee extensive cybersecurity activities at the heart of government-industry collaboration on the issue.

Ross was a senior economic policy adviser to Trump during the presidential campaign, drafting multiple articles and campaign policy documents on trade policy issues. Ross is also an investor and former banker who has worked with telecom companies, among other industries.
