Tech industry leader cites NIST framework as model for auto security

Members of the House Oversight Committee will hear from a tech industry official today that the government should continue its collaborative approach to cybersecurity as it pursues solutions to security and privacy issues in automobiles.

Tech industry officials will cite the National Institute of Standards and Technology's voluntary framework of standards as a model, while urging against a sector-specific approach that ignores increasingly interconnected nature of the economy and the emergence of the Internet of Things.
