Senate Intelligence chair pledges quick action on DNI nominee as Ratcliffe stresses cyber bona fides

Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr (R-NC) strongly endorsed the nomination of Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX) to serve as Director of National Intelligence, as the nominee touted his experience on cybersecurity issues during an appearance Tuesday before the intelligence panel.

In his opening statement, Ratcliffe cited China as the “greatest threat” to the United States and said top security challenges involve COVID-19, the security of 5G networks, Russian interference and cyber issues including supply-chain security.
