Senate homeland panel passes bill to strengthen federal system cybersecurity

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee today passed a bill to accelerate the deployment of an advanced cybersecurity tool across agencies and strengthen the Department of Homeland Security's authority to bolster security throughout government.

The committee unanimously approved the Federal Cybersecurity Enhancement Act authorizing DHS' cybersecurity program for federal agencies and directing the department to speed deployment of the most advanced version, EINSTEIN 3.
