Senate Commerce panel OKs bill to establish Internet of Things commission

A bipartisan bill establishing a national commission to develop policy recommendations on Internet of Things security and privacy has passed the Senate Commerce Committee and supporters are eyeing a quick path to the Senate floor.

The committee on Wednesday passed by voice vote the Developing Innovation and Growing the Internet of Things “DIGIT” Act, which establishes a government-industry commission to develop recommendations for a comprehensive national strategy on the Internet of Things.
