Science panel will study encryption to inform policymaking

The National Academies of Sciences is assembling a panel of experts to conduct a yearlong encryption study to inform future policymaking.

The organization has not yet announced the nascent endeavor, identified the roster of study participants or issued a formal statement laying out the tasks for the review, which will be supported administratively by the Division on Engineering and Physical Sciences, a spokeswoman told Inside Cybersecurity.
