Privacy, transparency addressed in add-ons to Senate federal network security bill

Amendments adopted during Wednesday's markup of a Senate bill designed to shore up federal network security and the Department of Homeland Security's cyber authority would strengthen privacy and transparency elements and clarify liability coverage.

The Federal Cybersecurity Enhancement Act was unanimously approved by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
