Lawmakers, industry see progress in White House directive on cyber responsibilities

Lawmakers and industry representatives alike are praising a new cybersecurity presidential policy directive for clarifying expectations of government and industry, and focusing on the business impact of disruptions due to data breaches.

But some say additional clarifications and programs are needed to fully address cyber threats.

Private-sector sources said they view the new directive as a much-needed clarification of which government agencies to turn to in the incident of a cyber attack.
