House homeland chairman pledges to fight for jurisdictional reforms over DHS cyber bill

Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) said today that legislation reorganizing the Department of Homeland Security's functions is being held up by jurisdictional battles in the House, and that he plans to “fight the fight” to strengthen his committee's authorities within the chamber.

“The time is right” to fight for revisions in committee responsibilities so that his committee has “sole jurisdiction” over DHS, McCaul said at the U.S Chamber of Commerce's Cybersecurity Summit in Washington, DC.
