A hack demonstrates real-world value of cyber information sharing

The value of the private sector's current cybersecurity information-sharing system was demonstrated recently when the American Bankers Association website's online shopping cart was breached -- and the info-sharing process quickly spread word about the incident to responsible parties.

According to a source, the financial-sector information sharing and analysis center, or FS-ISAC, informed the ABA of the breach, "after a tip by a 'Healthcare Security Company' discovering the text file on a hacking site in Russia."
